Lovely - what is a trace monotype? I think I understand monotype, but the trace bit?

Hi, Jennifer.
Often trace monotype is based on an original drawing or a computor print which you trace having a inked paper underneath.Your drawingpaper is sandwiched between the original and the inked paper.
Of course, if you work freehand directly onto the drawingpaper , the trace-bit is not involved.
Even so the name sticks to the process.
You can also make an edition, but of course draw the lines again and again.
